Transit of Venus

An astronomical event wherein the planet Venus passes directly between the Earth and Sun. It happens every 243 years with pair of transits, eight years apart separated by long gaps of 121.5 years and 105.5 years. It is observed as a small dot crossing across the sun. According to NASA, North America can see it clearly on June 5, 2012, 6:04 p.m. EDT for a duration of six hours. Better watch it now for we might be dead next time it will occur, December 2117.

I would love to see it now but clouds are obscuring the view due to bad weather here. Good thing there are online sites that provide free viewing of this phenomena like http://events.slooh.com/
