Banning Adult Content On Blogger

Earlier, I was notified on my dashboard about Blogger's new policy

"Starting March 23, 2015, you won't be able to publicly share images and videos that are sexually explicit or show graphic nudity on Blogger.

Note: We'll still allow nudity if the content offers a substantial public benefit, for example in artistic, educational, documentary, or scientific contexts."

Upon reading the first few lines I was taken aback. I googled for more information (news) on this matter. One thing really bothered me: Google, what's your reason for prohibiting adult content? It's not like removing all porn from Blogger would make it better. Why have a sudden change of heart? It seems that my so-called freedom of speech being restricted or should I say manipulated.

I got discouraged in continuing this blog, it's not like I have a lot of followers. On the bright side, Blogger has offered two options: 1. remove all sexually explicit images and videos in my blog, or 2. mark my blog as private.

Remove all the adult content from my blog? I don't think I can purge my blog and turn it into a child-friendly one. It will destroy the essence of my blog. In the first place, my blog isn't for children; much so blogs are unsafe sites for children to visit, with or without the nudity.

I'm obviously OK with their second option. It's not like I'll lose much, except for the pageviews. I do think that making my blog private will create an intimate relationship with my followers. With only four weeks left until their policy be made effective, I don't think I can handle the impending drastic change on Blogger.

Well I can transfer to another blogging site like Tumblr or WordPress. Maybe not the latter, they have been implementing a porn-free site. I prefer Tumblr since I do have an existing dormant account (and they do allow nudity to a greater extent of porn). Yet Tumblr requires a LOT of network reliability, based on my experience in using the blogging site.

Wait, if they will only prohibit sexually explicit images and videos, does that mean I can continue my Short Fantasies write-ups minus the GIFs? So if I take off all the adult-oriented images and videos from my blog before March 23, 2014 I can have my blog unaffected from their new policy, right?

Well my options have greatly increased: 1. Remove all the adult content (applies to only IMAGES and VIDEOS), 2. Do nothing and wait for Blogger to mark my blog as private, 3. Transfer my blog to Tumblr... or option 4. create a million signature campaign in stopping their new policy?

For me option 3 is the best! How about you, what do you think should I do?
